Default gtech's pushing the 4.8, wow!

it just doesn't feel anywhere near as quick as before but the gtech is saying it is prety close. i think the diference is part throttle power is way down with the 4.8 but up top it isn't too far behind where i was with the 6.0. it is also prety cool here right now. probably 30deg cooler than when i was testing with the 6.0.

i had a 200+lb passenger so my usualy .3 correction(truck is slower than gtech shows) should be .1. this is full weight with 3/4 tank of fuel. i could drop 400+lb's off of it from these runs.

going to call it a 13.0 leaving from idle, serious lag and a 2.6 60'

12.1 leaving under some boost with a 2.0 60'
11.9 with cut out open
11.8 cranking it all the way up , saw a little knock retard, not sure if it was real but it may have been.

Sweet! Looks like the 4.8 was underestimated. With 400 lbs off you're looking at low 11's??? Any word on the 408? That thing is going to "thunder"!

11.8 is corected for 200lbs worth so with 400lbs off i could see a 11.6 or so. thing is it is prety cool out and it wouldn't see temps like this at the track.

i really think high 11's with no nitrous could happen. mid 11's with a little hole shot of nitrous.

bone stock, never opened. stock head bolts, stock head gaskets, stock cam and springs. this was short shifting the hell out of it too. shift are set at 5400 now, anything higher and it would float like mad.

the boost controler actualy showed a peek of 20.4 psi but the mega map showed an average around 18.3psi. the 20.4 must have been on a shift or something.

i just looked at the megalog and i see right after the 2-3shift it went to 234kpa, thats 19.7psi but most of the run it was around 18.3 or so. mega maxes at 250kpa, it would need a diferent map sensor to go higher but with the 408 i dont see geting to these boost levels for a while.

20 psi....on a bone stock 4.8....Jim, you are on CRAZY individual !!!!

I say before you put the 408 in you give the 4.8 all she'll take just to see how far it'll go.....you'll probably be the only person on the planet ever to achieve 600+hp out of a 4.8 liter V8
