Nice setup. Did you used to post on LS1.com under the name "supercharged01" or something like that?

Ya my old screen name was supercharged 01. I switched screen names when I switched motors. I custom made my belt setup. I bought the 10 gooved pullies from whipple then machined spaceers on a lathe. I also had the old whipple set up where i had a lower pully on the bottom. I choped the old pully in half then welded a 3/4" thick cirle to the end. From there i drilled and helicoiled a bolt pattern for the pully i bought to bolt up to. "lower pully 8" in dia so it wouldnt slip instead of 6.25".After that i then machined it on the lathe again to balance it.The tensioner, lower pully, and pullys are off of there marine setup.
I was going to keep the blower for this motor, but i ran into a problem with going over my grams/sec. With my old set up it would hit 553grams/sec at 5500 rpm. It would then go extremely lean until it shifted. At the time every place i called said it would be several thousand for a computer setup. That made my decision real quick "this motor i am going to turn it into a nitrous motor", that way the computer wont be able to read how much hp is actually going through it.

First off i must say your truck is insane!

Second I have a few questions.

Are you planning to go with a blower setup with your new stroker?

What block did you use for your stroker? A 6.0 with a new crank, pistons, rods, etc.? What brand parts did you go with? What about your intake manifold?

If you dont mind me asking what would a similar engine as yours cost? I just bought an 03 sierra and am trying to go with a blower setup or a fully built engine (normally aspirated).

I also really LOVE your rear end setup! So you are running a 4 link with NO airbags!!! Hows the handling on that setup? How much cash did that set you back?
What brand 4 link, shocks, etc. did you purhcase? I have a hotchkis 2/4 drop and edelbrock shocks on my 03.
How is do you think the handling difference would be on a 4 link setup like yours?

Sorry for all the questions but I think your truck, so far, is probably the most impressive GMC fullsize I have seen!

If i can find a way to run a blower without having to pay thousands of dollars for a new computer set up i would. As of right now i dont know of any. The setup is a 2001 6.0 steel block. I bought it from the dealership about three months ago. Then i saw a good deal on this site for a stroker kit. It is a complete lunati set up with a 4" stroke crank/6.125 lunati I beam rods/and lunati pistons. The kit came with barings, rings, crank, pistons, and rods for 3450.00 shiped. I have done everything over a period of time so it is hard to say one price, but the motor it self was probably around $7000-8500.00 I ran it for about 1200 miles and decide that the cam was way to small. Now i am in the middle of changing the cam "still havent decided for sure, but looking around a 230/238 .595/.609 112lsa". Plus now i also need heavyer duty flywheel. I will probably been ordering some stuff today.

The rearend set up I actually bought the 4 links from a local air bag shop. Then i fabracated my own mounts for the coils and built a pan hard bar also. The coils are alden coilovers i believe. I bought them from a buddy that has a show hot rod. I would eventually like to do a full dragster fourlink, but as of right now i am going to have to stick to this one. With a set of drag radials i can pritty much put it to the floor within 5 feet. It is funny when my buddies pull up in there 12.6's sec ss's and trans am's with drag radials and just blow them away out of the hole. As of right now they can still catch me at the end. Thats why a bigger stall/ some long tubes/ and some computer tuning is in need. I still havent tune it.

As of the intake i bought it about a month ago. It was a pain in the a--. I had to cut the alternator bracket off in order to put it on. I then rerouted my belt and changed my water pump to a corvettes just so my air intake wouldnt get in the way of the radiator line. Then i had to grid off the injector fuel rail tabs and custom make my own to fit. Plus i had cut my cross over fuel rail and make my own flexable steel rapped line. And a couple of other little things.

Thanks for all the answers!

Hmmm. Sounds like for me getting a low mileage 6.0 and that lunati kit would be the way to go. What made you decide to go with a steel 6 liter instead of an all aluminum 5.7?

Do you think that intake manifold was worth it?

That rear end setup sounds CRAZY! Dude you should think about patenting it and having someone mass produce it for sale! Bet you could get some buyers for sure!

So hows your tranny lasting? Never heard of hughes. Do you have any links and info on their trannys? Is it a 4L60E? Whats the longest mileage/time you had a tranny? Trying to figure out what type of life to expect from a factory and built tranny?

The 6 liter was about 1000.00 cheaper then to have the aluminum resleved. I am not to sure how much the intake added. It definaley add some, but my lt trims are at 30 something. Its just way to rich on the top end. I havent got a chance to get everything dialed in yet. The rear hooks good, but for some reason the track we go to it doesnt seem to hook like the street even with slicks. It spins the tires even at half throtle at the track.

The kit i bought from hughes is rated at 600hp. But when i hit the nitrous with my old blower setup it didnt seem to like it very much. It sliped on the shifts. Only with the nitrous though. It held up to the blower.

Man, that is a badass setup you got there. You need to start selling the 4 link kit and coilover brackets.

You've got a PM also, Please check it out.
