That hughes tranny sounds NICE! How much did that set you back?

So have you thought about installing a stand alone computer system, like Accel's DFI or Motec?

I have an Accel DFI setup on my turbo honda and I absolutely LOVE it! It allows basically unlimited control over the engine, including fuel injector harnesses wired directly to the DFI Ecu! The fuel system control DFI allows is amazing!
The system is like $900-$1000 for the ECU and wiring harness. They make a prewired wiring harness for V8s but I dont know if it would work directly with your engine.
I had to have my the supplied v8 wiring harness modified for my civic but it wasnt to big of a deal!

The only thing about DFI is technically its not carb approved BUT I do know that you can easily program a DFI equipped engine to pass smog tests.

It set me back about 960.00 i believe. It would be way to much work to convert my electronic tb over as well as the harnesses. I would rather wait and find and drop in computer. I still have to check with lingenfelter to see if they have one.

That is just a rebuild kit. It comes with cluches/ a two & four band/transco shift kit/two steel carriers/servo/filter/orings ect. I just rebuilt my stock tranny to match there 2500.00 tranny. "I believe that is around the cost for there trannys".

That,s the exact way my flywheel looked when I took it off, not bent up like that but the middle piece that bolts to the crankshaft was seperated from the rest of it. Let us know what you find for a upgraded flywheel.

So that rebuild kit could be used on my stock 4L60E? How difficult is it to rebuild a stock tranny with this kit?

Every thing pritty much replaces old parts becides the shift kit. The shift kit alone takes some know how. Other wise it is pritty much self explanatory. I dont recommend doing it unless the person has had some experiance though.

What did it sound like when that flywheel let loose?

I had something happen in my truck today that I;m not sure about. I was pulling out on a road and started to get on it. Before it made the 1-2 shift, it went PPPOOOOOOWWWW and gave a real hard jerk and quit pulling. The motor r's shot up real high when that happened. There was no fluid anywhere. It is definantly in the front of the tranny/right behind the motor.

My dad said it was the TC right off the bat. I'm hoping it isn't, cause if it is, it's gonna be a pain to get Yank to warranty it, if they will even. I want to step up to a 3000 stall anyways.

It is sitting at the tranny shop right now, waiting on them to get there in the morning. I am hoping it's something simple like that, but my luck it's gonna be a broken input shaft or something else major.

Forgot to say, when I start it up there is some funky *** noise that comes from the front of the tranny. It's like something rubbing together. If I put the T-case in Neutral, it will stop. I'm guessing that whatever it is has enough grab to turn the tranny with absolutely no load. Once we got it to the tranny shop, I was able to put it in 4lo and baby it up the little hill we couldn't push it up to get it out of the street, ubt it obviously wasn't pulling like it should because it didn't jump like it normally does when putting it in gear in 4lo.

Sorry to push over your post, but I remember readuing it and seeing you had your flywheel problem and thought about that when it happened. I am thinking of building a 6.0 as well eventually. I am fixing to put a set of ported and polished heads with 1.85 rockers and 212/218 568/575 on a 114 center in. I would really like to just build a new motor to swap out at the time, but more than likely won't due to the money constrants.
