? If you add the lucas syntheic additive does that replace 1 quart of whatever oil you are using or do you add that on top of the regular 6 quarts?

I use Valvoline 10w40 and change it every 1500 miles. 44k and all is well.

Never overfill your engine! Only put in enough product to bring the oil level up to the top hash mark on the dip stick.

Additives are up to you but in my opinion are not required with a premium oil.

I would suggest avoiding oil additives all together. Remember oils are developed to work by themselves without the addition of an unknown.

Then why use a synthetic oil. Not bashing, but it seems like a waste of money IMO.

Seems a little too often to me. That's really a waste of money and time.
3,000 mi is short enough and an excelent change date, unless you rag your truck or car out everyday.
