Good performance oil??

I run Mobil 1 5w30 with one quart of Lucas Synthetic additive. For a filter I use Delco PF59. I have seen numerous other filters cut apart and the Delco pleased me the most, I think Frams are junk. The Delco's hold up good. I put Mobil one in the girlfriends Jeep grand cheroke as well. ( Yep it has a hemi) whhhoooo.

Ok so I went with Castrol Full synthetic 5w30 and a K&N Oil filter. The truck seems to idle a little smoother now. That could be due to the fact that I went from regular oil to synthetic. Definetely have noticed the difference and am happy with the switch. I'm probably going to stick with Castrol from here on out.
Reasonable price + Quality Product = Happy times!!
Mobil can take a flying leap charging nearly $10 a bottle. I paid half that for a product that is just as good. Don't get me wrong Mobil's products are good but the prices are ridiculous!

Oh and I thought I'd mention how much of a dumbass I am.....I only let the truck cool down for twenty minutes before attempting the oil change. Let's just say that hot exhaust pipes and skin don't like each other. Needless to say I've got a battlewound the size of a baseball! Figured all you veterans out there would get a laugh out of that.

This is an excellent combo for our truck engines. Another suggestion that I have is the run the European 5w-40. There have been excellent results in the LS1's with this oil. It is also almost $2.00 per quart cheaper.
