just wondering what would a good cam be for the 4.8 or the 5.3
this is a daily driver on pump gas with no other mods..

It all depends on what your goals are...the cam in my sig is very mild and sounds stock, but it did yield definite gains for me when combined with a tune. Works well with the stock converter and I drive it everyday...but I want more . There's an abundance of cams and parts available, from mild to wild, just depends how crazy you want to go. What is the differnence between the 5.3 and 6.0 cams. Has anyone put a 6 in a 5.3 and is it worth it.

 

I think that the 5.3 and 6.0 cams are the same, at least they are from 00-02 (99 is a different story). Concensus around here is that aftermarket is the way to go...I asked about the GM Hot Cam and was pretty much told that the aftermarket grinds are much better.
