How you doing, Jim?! Haven't heard from you in a while! You going to Hattiesburg tomorow?

yea that is the one you need. i just checked the part number at summit and they match. what did you do when you had the gears put in. did you do a install kit or just use what was in there? i would call summit and ask what is needed for this.
remember get the GM additive and i think two bottles of gear oil. non synthetic if you can find it.

look under notes
if that don't work, just look at the summit racing website, search eaton traction and it will pull up what you are looking for

As far as the E-locker goes......I would stay away from it! The jury is still out on whether these things work or not. The fluid they use has electromagnetic properties, and it doesn't always behave as it should. If you want a locker, get a locker. If you want to control lock-up, then an air locker is by-far a better choice. Talk to the off-road guys, they'll tell you how it is.
03keverado, no you don't need to change your gears with switching to an Eaton/girdle.
I've done one rear-end, and after doing it I will gladly write a check to have it done by a professional. Like Flyer said, its just not my cup of tea. I'm sure a lot of you guys could do it on here. It's definatley a lot less complicated than building an engine. BUT, if something goes wrong you can't point the finger. My truck is my daily driver, and I don't have the time. If its not your DD, and you have the time, them go for it. You'll learn a
lot.
BTW labor costs on a posi w/no-gear swap is only about $200-$300. Cheap insurance if you ask me. And aftermarket gears don't whine if they're set-up properly!
Oh yeah, you might want to look into the Ford friction modifier. I run that in both vehicles and both rear-end shops here in town swear by it! Its a lot better than the GM ****, at least thats what I've been told. You can get it at your local Ford stealership.
