Default GM Variable Displacement

Is it possible to remove Variable Displacement from 07-up GM trucks. I have a Magnaflow muffler and hate the sound when it goes into 4 cylinder mode. Plus my mileage sucks anyway. I usually get 14-15 mpg. If possible and anyone has done this, what are your thoughts about it.

Yep...Lots of guys have done this. You can have a custom tune and have it shut off, and or mechanically disable by replacing lifters, valley cover, cam, etc.

When searching you'll want to look for VVT
It can be tuned out by custom tuner.

Where is the shop located that can tune and will it be similar to a Black Bear tune?

BlackBear is a mail order company. he sends you a cable to log information on your truck and then you mail it back. he then uses that to create a new tune for you and sends it back. or sends a pcm. not sure.

A local shop will do the same thing except you just bring the truck in and they do it all right there. Both are a million times better than buying a handheld device. The main difference between the 2 is that Justin at blackbear is really damn good. I don't know anything about the shop that's local to you but they should be able to easily remove the VVT. Might aswell have them do an actual tune tho at the same time to get more out of the truck.

4 cylinder mode would be DOD/ AFM. Get it tuned out by a custom tune. not hard to do and depending on where you go, its kinda cheap!
