Seems like a few guys are jumping ship and going positive displacement blower from their turbo setups. I won't waste forum space by asking another redundant "which is better" thread but I'm curious if any whipple/tvs guys have gone to turbo and why? What are your impressions of either one?

Yup had a pd blower and its fun for instant hit but when you pulley it up the heat is horrible, power robbed is bad, crank stress

Turbo has endless pull unless undersized

I dont wanna get into a pissing match but i recently switched. I like the TVS alot better than the turbo. Instant TQ is awesome. I quick blip of the throttle and your gone. I could not do that with the turbo. Yes the turbo i just turned a **** and i had more boost but the TVS has ALOT more power under the curve. My IATs on my TVS only rise 15* at 13-14psi. The turbo was fun but the TVS is alot funner to drive everyday.

Which pd blower did you have on what setup

Also, don't the tvs dynos show pull to redline without falling off? Seems that putting on the smallest pulley and going outside the efficiency range is similar to undersized turbo or overspinning

Yea it's similar. You want to have the right blower for the job and you really won't be dossappointed.

George is a turbo guy. Clearly. Nothing else could ever work. Outside of the procharger on his daily.

I went from a 112 Magnacharger to my setup in my sig. The Magnacharger was nice, but for all out power my turbo setup is good for my liking. If I was towing I would want a supercharger. I also like the sound of a turbo much better, the supercharger sounded like I ran out of power steering fluid. I wouldn't mind building a procharger setup someday either.
