I am going to be in need of rebuilding my rear end soon. When I do I will be switching into a Detroit or Auburn along with 4.10 gears.
Currently I have the stock G80 locker with 3.73 gears.

I am just curious as to what you guys have been using to replace your stock setup and any part numbers/prices you may have.

MTI did my Auburn. I have no idea what the part number is. Chris might. Give him a call.

I currently have Auburn on mine. If you are looking into it, you need part# 542097. This the direct replacement for the 99+ trucks. I hope this helps.

So whats this new Eaton all about? I am just finding out they have one out and I am a little curious about it.

 

the eaton to me is the standard posi, it has flat clutches with springs, it is rebuildable, the auburn may not be. it seems to be a prety popular choice.

i just got mine in the mail, it cost $390 and includes eveything to put it in and shiping. i hope to install it this weekend.

 

could some one help me with a link to the specific eaton unit?

 

Are you guys having good luck putting those in the stock rear end housing?
Just wondering if they hold up ok.

Do you have to have the pinion and gear setup when you swap those?
