The lowest mileage I've personally see a LSx cam fail is 23,000. The engine had a pronounced tick all the time and a slight miss but not enough to trip a misfire code. Number 8 intake lifter was ate up along with the lobe as well as one lifter on number 2. Its like the early 80s 305's all over again.

The best one I've heard of yet is a brand new Camaro that either came off the transport truck with collapsed lifters of they collapsed during the or right after the PDI test drive. I know the mileage was in the single digits when the heads were pulled off.

so far so good, haven't had any major problems since I changed the cam out. Just got back from the track a bit ago..
