My forged crank turns into a wet noodle when hammering on it. However, it has never lost pressure and there is no material coming off the bearings.

Yeah I figured the piston or rod would be most likely to go before the crank would start to bend, especially since there is more heat on them. It's probably one of those situations where everything is perfectly aligned and your luck just so happen to run out lol

Detonation usually beats the crap out of the top rod bearings, but once they are crushed that energy has to go somewhere, so it starts beating directly on the crank. Keep in mind spec for crank runout is something like 0.0002", so it doesn't take much.

And without dropping the pan and the caps, there is no way to check for this? Correct? Or just don't worry about it until you see other problems? Windows and stuff.

If your bearings are destroyed you will see a drop in oil pressure and all kinds of glittery stuff in the oil filter if you cut it open.

Makes since then. If you have detonation that bad to the point you are causing that many problems then your screwed anyway. Or should have at least known not to run it.

A crank will flex without detonation

Sure force will flex it since material used isnt rated for the power

Well, so far I have cut every filter open. I only have some metal at the first startup oil change and the 100 mile oil change. I did another one at 100 miles and one at 1000 miles and there was nothing in it. I even screened the oil as it drained. Hopefully I'm good.

I don't see myself making enough power to flex the crank. I can only hope so.
