Although I don't work at an engine shop so I don't have first hand knowledge. I believe the Valve guides are Powdered metal. There usually pretty durable so unless it's bent a valve in the past or had alot of runs with no oil I doubt the guide is bad.
It seems more common for the valve seal to get damaged during installation.
It might not hurt to have a machine shop look over the stems and guides.
The guides may need a hone and the stems may need a polish. But I'm still certain the seals are the root cause of the issue. Did you thoroughly lube the valves when you installed them? Something more than runny assembly lube?
I believe its a common practice to use white grease or something grease like with a high pressure rating to protect them on startup as Oil will get wiped away real fast.

After I ported these, a reputable old time drag racer here in town did the valve job and assembled them. I talked to him last week and he said he checks the guide. So its more than likely the seal or some how still leaking past that rocker bolt hole.
I was going to just use another seal off of another head since I cant find just a single seal for sale alone, but I may go ahead and order a whole new set to get a fresh new seal for this repair.

Yea, I can mac N cheese for a night. LOL BTW the current seals on it are new. It must have just gotten damaged on install. It just sucks to spend $25 on a set of seals that I'll on use 1 out of the 16. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

Update on the truck's smoking issue. I replaced all of the valve stem steals with stock 5.3 seals last fall and so far, I haven't noticed any oil burning at all. Level hasn't even dropped the usually amount between oil changes. Almost too good to be true.
But, I'm not accepting that answer yet, since it was winter. As summer comes in and it gets hot around here, we'll truly see if it helped.
The valve stem seals that were on the motor, were replaced when I had the machine shop put the larger 2" valves in before the engine swap. I had them install comp seals also.
Right now it looks like changing out the valve stem seals, although they were new and Comp, my oil burning issue is gone. I'll update here again after this Summer.
