Yea its amazing how much of a difference a track/conditions can make!

I was thinking about pulling off some of my extra weight on my truck but decided against it.

Typically unless you are pulling off over 100 lbs its not worth it. 100 lbs weight savings can result in at the most one tenth (.1) drop in the quarter, so it can be worth it.

I still cant believe how slow some of the other cars I saw were! That 318 V8 RCSB Dodge dakota, with DRAG RADIALS and no tailgate was running 16.4s in the quarter. Considering its light weight I would have thought a better time would be possible. I'm sure glad <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I dont have a DOG <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" /> , I mean DODGE truck. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Yeah, I have seen lightnings that are supposed to run at least 14.0 in the quarter, they are all running between 14.6 to 14.8. My friend on his Hyabusa is supposed to do 9.85 in the quarter according to reviews, but his best and fastest was a 10.6, and on average he gets 11.2s all night. Corvettes(stock) they get high 13's, and I guess they are supposed to get low 13's!

 

If the cars are running SLOWER than what you see in Motor Trend then something is different about your area. Most Motor Trend ETs are worse than you would see in eal life because they use the same procedure to race ALL the cars in an attempt to keep things fair. Unfortunately it makes the ETs for the truely fast vehicles suck. 12.9 out of a 99 S351 SALEEN? That car is capable of 11.90s @ 123mph in stock trim.
