Default Engine Problem?

ive been hearing what sounds like an exhaust leak for a little while now so i checked all my exhaust and my header gaskets and everything is fine. so my question is could i have a lifter tapping or some other problem in the engine?

That is standard for a lsx engine, a large marjority of them make a lifter tapping sound. Don't be alarmed. Unless, it's not only doing it at idle or just off idle?

Mine does the same after the header install, runs fine though and sounds normal at idle. I think it is just a leak at the collector, I can pop the hood and rev it and it sounds just fine but makes a little noise when I'm driving.

I have the Ls6 springs and they are alittle noisy..

But the 918's are really noisy.... My buddy has them.....

I've always had some noise from my engine since day one, just seems to have gotten louder since my cam and spring install (and I have a relatively mild cam). I've always heard it in the cab, kinda right at my feet. Under the hood, while revving the engine and holding the rpm's up, it's very noticeable. I've tried both Comp 915 springs and LS6 springs, and the noise still remains constant...Harland Sharp roller rockers didn't make a difference in the noise either. Runs great though.
