Default E-Fans SUCK!

Blew 2 relays today and before I knew it - OVERHEAT! Thats the second time this summer. These ****** efans are a serious PITA! I started with the Nelson harness, then had that repaired about a 18mos ago, now I'm on my third set of relay harnesses!!!! I switched to Bosch relays this time, but looks like the hi-speed relay harness is completely fucked over....clutch fans rule!

Not gonna lie, seems like one make of harness appears to have more issues than others. Granted, that's just anecdotal evidence, but just saying..

Never had a problem with my Blackbear harness. If you're gonna stick with the E-fans, I'd recommend the Blackbear harness. I haven't heard of a single problem with theirs.

That being said, LS1 fans didn't work for me....215+ at the track (air temps were only in the low 70s), and in the summer heat was pushing 220 at times stop and go traffic, best it could do was 207*. Now, clutch fan back on, temps stay constant around 194-198*. There is a teeny noticeable power loss with the clutch fan, but I'll gladly take that any day of the week knowing that I have reliable cooling. There was no way I was going to risk towing with the E-fans.

I had issues with my original harness. Caught before it failed. I built my own. These things pull big amps and need big wires and good relays and bases.

Had the e-fans for about 3 years and they never failed to do their job.

KNOCK ON WOOD - no cooling or VSC issues with my FALs in 40K miles - and I love the cold a/c when sitting stopped at a light.

I had problems with my original harness as well. I built my own, and so far-so good!
