Default Dynatech or American Racing?

I'm in the process of buying a set, but want to know which will give me the best performance gain first. If any of you have had experience in this field, please let me know.

I'd like to know primary length, compared to merge collecter size.

I will be getting 1 3/4" and an ORY. Don't think I'll be F.I. any time soon unless I win the lottery (or my stingy work gives me a bonus!!)

Thanks

Bader

Are these for the 6.2? I didn't think they used a Y-pipe.

yeah it is.. I emailed Nick over at ARH and he told me they offer the full system..

It's quite a spend since coming from Pacesetters that do the job 90%, so right now I need to know which one in general is the best header

actually no need.. I saw the headers side by side, and the ARH look so much more better quality wise, although the dynatechs do look a little longer, ARH has hit the market and seems to be out there more compared to the Dynas. Something they're doing must be working!

akh there goes my hard earned $1400

Before I bought my headers, I polled a number of speed shops in St. Louis and Chicago. Every single one told me to go with ARH. Two told me they had customers who had removed Dynatech headers and saw improvements. In my experience, you get what you pay for. Good luck with your choice.

I guess I should have been more clear. I was comparing the stainless steel headers to the mild steel Pacesetters. I had a set of Dynatech's on an 02 Corvette and they fit very nicely with no complaints, but everyone I talked to recommended ARH, so that is what I bought. I will let you know how they fit when they are installed in a week or two. Everything I see on ARH is quality. They have 3/8" flange, 304 stainless steel construction, merge collectors with spikes, Random cats, ball connectors for the Y pipe and most importantly, they are made in America. These are all the things I look for in a quality header and ARH has it.

Both headers seem very nice, but if I had to chose between the two, I'd go with ARH. For one thing, they have 3" collectors which is better for bigger cubes (ie: 6.0+) and higher RPM horsepower. Second, they're a sponsor here and have been active in the forums, so if you ever have any questions or problems you could probably get in touch with them rather easily.
