I got my 2005 LQ4 with 9,000 miles for $1400 on Ebay. The only catch was the seller was in Canada and it was a flat rate of $700 to have it shipped. Thunder550 also bought from this seller and had good luck.

Got a seller name? I did call one place in canada and they said it would be easier to come across myself because of the rate to ship it. In the states I've been quotes 100 to me even from the midwest

Just get the LQ4, shave the heads .030 and bolt them back on. You'll probably see more compression than the LQ9. I have a set of 241's but think I'm going to pass on using them if you're interested.

I've been eyeing LQ4's for a stroker project. I like the '99-'00 ones, and for the price difference I'd rather get an older one with more miles and just rebuild the whole thing anyway... I like the LKQ yards personally, they can deliver anywhere in the US for under 250 (so says Car Craft). Here's a few engines copied from LKQ's lookup tool...

This may be slightly off subject but, i have an 01 silverado 2500HD with the LQ4. I also have hptuners, but havent really had time to learn it well. My question is. Can i get on the HPtuners repository and download the lq4 335hp tune and flash it to that pcm or are there something else that needs to be done. I realize that the 01 has the EGR crap and possibly a different computer setup that i doubt the 05 does.
Any help would be apprecitated.
