i just got off the phone with my freind with the 5.4 and for some reason hes not as cocky as he was the last couple days now hes sayin his truck is bigger and has alot more weight. he seems to think that im so confident becuase he thinks i did more then im telling him hes not trying to back out but i think hes second guessing his ford.

ok first off your tow/haul mod is good for part throttle because it extends your shifts up about 5mph but at wide open throttle it pulls about 500rpms back on ya so dont use it. 2nd put the hpp3 settings at +4 1-2 shift and +10 2-3 shift and leave the 3-4 shift set at 0. rpms at 6200 shift firmness on. the ford will shift out at 5000 1-2 and 5000 2-3 so you will have him without a dought........

You guys are killing me with the "Fords are slow" and "turds" comment. How many actually posted real tested runs like I did? My old '99 was rated at 260hp and 350tq, and, like I said, was slightly quicker than my brothers 4x4 5.3 up until about 60-70mph. After that, his truck would ever so slightly start catching up, then we'd quit around 80mph.
I also owned an '04 FX4 4x4 (300hp) which felt much slower than my '99 4x2 5.4. Whether it was or not, I have no idea. It was a crew cab and 4x4, plus the new body style is significantly heavier. (One of the main reasons I sold it, too slow). You can't just say "260hp is slower than 300hp". There are way too many other factors. If you "race" magazine times, the old F150 5.4 was faster because of the lighter weight, even with the HP deficit.
Honestly, being that you have a 4.8, I'd be worried seeing how relatively slow my brothers 5.3 4x4 extra cab was. But I'd say your chances are better agains the new 300hp (yeah right) than the old 260hp motor.
Do I want you to win? You bet!!!!!!!!!
