chevy 4.8 vs ford 5.4

I can vouch for the turd comment... Raced one in the 4.8 before the cam and stall... went from a 30 roll... got him at about 1 1/2 truck lengths and really didnt race for a complete 1/4 mile.
Edit: however mines an 01 and the ford was also an 01.

thats IF he has a 1/4 drive 7mm swivel socket to remove the #3 ign coil
AND a 3/8 drive swivel with 2 3" extensions to get out the #7+8 plugs(works best for me)
Almost forgot, have him look at his P/S pump and wonder why it is missing a bolt(01+ dont have the one behind the p/s line because they have nylon seals, which makes you turn them all the way off with a wrench

I wouldn't even go there on the quality issue. We don't have a leg to stand on either, unfortunately.

04 5.4's are 300hp and 365tq. it is a 3valve per cylinder engine. mine has a good take off but mine is a supercrew. and a 4X4 and is very heavy.i think it will be a good race. but the weight factor is going to decide it.

My dad has raced me in his 04 FX4 extended cab. No contest mine over his. The new fords just weigh too damn much to be anywhere near fast. That and the fly by wire throttle likes to roll on to WOT I've noticed. With a tune and some bolt-ons, they'd be ok.

hey guys the races were fun and we went about 10 times maybe more from a roll and a dig petty much the same results with a few exceptions
the races from a roll were the easier wins except at certain spots where the 4.8 just couldnt seem two find the right spot to get going but when she did i would pull past him
the dig races were very very close he would get the jump and i would chase him down just about everytime now i did not win ANY of the races by any comfortable amount meaning they were extremley close it seemed to always end up with his bumper at my door and another thing that sucxked was his speed limiter is still in place so no runs past 100 or whatever he cuts out at we even traded trucks for a few runs with the results being the same as i am writing this hes probably out buying his next mod
All in all the ford is fairl slow i think but hes going to get someday if he mods enough
