there are metallic and ceramic cats. i have not tried ceramics....magnaflow told me they would not hold up to the abuse. well guess what...neither did their metallics. im going to call them and get more info.

they also offer a race cat, which is straight thru with a perforated core...problem is that they are too long to fit at the collectors. they may work at lower temps...will have to find out.

Remember I mentioned it smelled like no cats, then you said you didn't have any which made sense haha. I could see the smell get annoying. I'll trade you trucks and you won't have that problem

i never had any foul smells on my 5.3 after deleting the cats...must have been luck or something, hell if i know. i was running these on it for a while before i cut them out completely http://performance-curve.com/3thunde...ter415300.aspx not overly expensive but dont know how well they'd stand up to the power if the magnaflows crumbled. couldnt hurt to try them if you cant find any others.

I have a hard time understanding the time and expense being given to installing cats, but I admire the dedication to keeping the EPA happy.

dont care if they are cali legal cats...just want something to last more than a few hundred miles.

dont care about the epa either.

if i get inspected, i am screwed...just trying to reduce the risk of getting busted. no smells, minimal noise, etc....

I would just put the 2500 HD cats farther back. They should do well enough to eliminate the smell. They might not reduce emissions as much, but you arent concerned with that.

i could cut out my x pipe and cut the mufflers apart. then spread the pipes further apart so i can stagger the 2500hd cats. then put the x back in after the mufflers...

poop
