Default CAR.....with the heart of a TRUCK!

I'll post this in here 'cause I thought you Radix guys might get a kick out of it. I just finished installing a Magnacharger Radix truck system on our 91 LS1 Z28!
It an 01 LS1 with stock heads, bottom end, etc. I've switched the old setup over to a LPE GT2-3 cam, and Yank 3000 converter instead of the stuff in my sig. Everything else is stock in the engine, including the exhaust manifolds.

After tuning it in a little bit I took it out to the dragstrip for a few shakedown runs.

Run 1: 11.12 @ 123.60 1.564 60'
Run 2: 11.17 @ 123.49 1.599 60'
Run 3: 11.17 @ 124.37 1.608 60'
Run 4: 11.24 @ 124.22 1.675 60'

This is all at 6.5# of boost. I'm going to try and get it up to 8#. The thing I've noticed is that it's a little tough to get the boost up. With the stock 3.4" pulley it only made 4.5#. I've switched to the 3" pulley and that brought it up to 6.5#. I want to go smaller and see if I can get around 8#.

The thing is a blast to drive around! One of the neighbors out here said it sounded like a jet going by when I went WOT down the highway.

I think it's easy 10's with a little more boost, and the LPE cam idles like stock!

It just shows what the Radix can do if you take a few pounds off the vehicle.

John, the boost is low because the Camaro crank pulley is smaller in diameter than a truck pulley. With a truck pulley and a 3"supercharger pulley you will make about 9 1/2 lbs of boost.

That's freakin awsome! I think I'm fixing to go to work on my motor and find a cuttin torch to shave some weight off my truck and try and shed about 1000 pounds.

Did I mention that's freakin AWSOME?!

Yah, larger crank pulley....any smaller pullies on the blower and you'll have issues with slippage I tink.

That is kickass!! It is kinda weird-about an hour before I saw this post I was daydreaming about putting a 6 liter/Whipple combo in my 72 Skylark. It would perform as good as the big block that is now in there and get way better gas mileage and be more fun to drive on the street. Thanks, John-you talked me into it!!
