Would be noticeable over stock cam. With you being a 4.8L ext cab and the weight, also wanting to keep stock stall the 206/212 would work good. You might want to go 1 slight step bigger though on the intake side.

A 210/216 isky cam would be good, or a vinci 210/218. That would prob be about the biggest I would go IMO with your setup. Would be nice with at least a stock TB converter though which can be bought for cheap. Later on if you want more out of your setup, get a 278mm CircleD or FTI converter if you are on a budget.

I did my trans/TC swap in my driveway. Need a good sturdy jack, about 3' of 3/8 extensions. took me and two friends 12 hours start to finish.

The comp XR265HR low lift is also a popular choice for a fairly stock engine 212/218 522/529 with good results.

Part number is 54-412-11

The TB converter is better than your stock truck torque converter, but depending on how much you can get it for, I would probably go with an FTI or CircleD 278mm such as a 3000-3200 converter. If you can basically get the tb converter for nothing then go for it, but you can get a 3200rpm FTI Street Brawler 278mm for $309.99 at jegs. Can't beat that price for the FTI, and its a reworked TB converter, that is stronger and stalls higher.

but 120 more and get a better one is a hard choice ill probably end up with the 3200 fti just because im still getting funds either way ill be happy. also what diameter pushrods? i saw a couple different ones looking on summits website i know the ls6 yellow springs are what most people use just not sure on rods.

I'd get the FTI if it were me. As for the hardened pushrod length, most go for the stock 7.400 length. It doesn't hurt to get a $20 pushrod length checker for piece of mind though.

5/16" hardend pushrods is what you want btw.
