Default cam.. or gears???

i have a 2004 gmc sierra ext 4x4 the front drive shaft is pulled, - mods are, lt headers, cai, vette servos, catback, and nelson 91 tune, im also gunna try and do a shift kit. im running 33in tires and im wanting to do one last mod. i cant decide between a cam prob a 220/220 since its a DD or to do 4:56 gears, what would be the pros and cons? and also what would be the best bang for the buck and why? thanks for the help guys

Gears...cam comes with lots of extra stuff needed with it, not to mention more berried trans parts.

Last time I checked you could get a trutrac 4.56 front and back for your truck from rons machining for around $850 shipped. Best bang for the buck.

Cam and springs alone will run you 5-600, then other things to go with it on an older engine such as new lifters maybe, and a stall, etc

that'd be a great improvement, gears, truetrac and mild stall.

Wouldnt he have to worry about supporting mods in the trans, i.e. beefier parts? I have a 3800 circle d stall brand new waitin to go in but I'm still collecting all my other trans parts such as beast sunshell, z pak 3/4 clutch, shiftkit, 2/4 band, reverse input....an some other things...

Honestly its not that much more for the front gears too at rons...why not do them all at once and be able to launch 4hi?

But yeah 4.56's in the back would make a large difference. I can see a stall helping but I think youd have to worry about things breaking, not to mention it would make your trans run hotter...if you havent already then you need some sort of bigger trans cooler, trucool 40K or something. And a temp gauge on it.

My reasoning is that the gears are best choice since they will require no other mods
