Then I edit my post lol. I'd spend the money on fixing my 4wd, then do gears or something lol

Honestly its not that much more for the front gears too at rons...why not do them all at once and be able to launch 4hi?

But yeah 4.56's in the back would make a large difference. I can see a stall helping but I think youd have to worry about things breaking, not to mention it would make your trans run hotter...if you havent already then you need some sort of bigger trans cooler, trucool 40K or something. And a temp gauge on it.

My reasoning is that the gears are best choice since they will require no other mods
It would be fine, Vette servo's and a tune. My next truck is gonna be a bone stock 4X4 tuned with a $400 Circle D. Before I built the LQ4 my 5.3 and stock trans lived through 50+ bottles on 125 shot with a 3600 yank spraying through the shifts before the 2-3 shift started to slip. That was at 158,000 miles...

I run a ss4000 on a stock trans with an added cooler and vette servo, best bang for the buck

Well, theres a difference between a 2009 trans with probably low miles than an 01 or 04 trans thats been beat to death. As far as longevity with a stall and otherwise stock trans.

But hey, go for it!
