You can always just get the VSC controller from Flex-A-Lite which is what makes their kit better over the rest. I think it runs around 60 bucks.
BTW .. I'm running the Flex-A-Lites for the 34" radiator on a small radiator.

get the flex-a-lites. I had them on my obs tahoe and will eventually install a set for my new sierra. I'd think that you'd want the 282's for your truck...kit comes with vsc. I think the fans are quiet but may seem loud to some people since they are not always running like the stock fan.
btw, I got my last set at summit for under $400 as well.
