The ls6 intake is going to hurt you.

I think what he means is that it'll move the powerband to the right a bit, giving you a bit less on the low end.

If it does weigh only 4,000lbs, a comp 216/220 or something like a TPS 220.

FWIW: I'm running the 216/220 comp, in a 5,000 lb 4x4 with a 5.3 and had minimal low end loss (also did 243 heads and bumped compression from 9.5 to 9.9) on the stock stall. I think with the bigger cubes, you'll be fine with a low 22x cam.

I personally don't think the LS6 intake will hurt you, it's a good flowing intake in my opinion. If you are really want to keep your low end torque, then go a bit smaller on the cam. The Texas Speed 224/228 cam would be a great compromise. If you are really leaning towards the 228R, I see no reason why it won't work well in a 5.7 motor, especially if it's a playtoy and not a daily driver. Weight is not really that bad, heck my GTO weighs almost that much.
