I say go Volant, they have fixed their problems and are a true cold air design. It is more expensive, but is a sealed box. And they have the ram air for it. I think Tbyrne is having a sale on Volants for like 235?

Had AirRaid, K&N FIPK and now UPD. Picked up 5+rw with each progression. I've heard of some UPD's cracking, but mine has been fine for almost 3 years now.

Volant is the only OPTIONAL tru cold air intake. You pay extra for the downtube. Other than that, the Volant gets it's air from the same place as the Factory box and UPD.

Are you saying the UPD is the best out of those 3? And where can I get some good prices on these intake kits? I now have an $1100 buget for this and other parts.

I had the K&N but didn't like it switched to True flow air intake system, it uses the stock air box, so it uses air pulled from the outside, 4" mandrel bent black satin powder coated pipe, and a foam element which flows better than a traditional paper element even when it is covered entirely with debris. It is a sweet system. I gained 13rwtq and about 11 rwhp.

I'm starting to like K&N less and less. Almost everyone says the K&N doesn't do anything. The replacement filter may not do much, but I didn't notice anything. Same thing with the Flowmaster

Check the truck classifieds section for the UPD special. I dynoed my K&N and UPD and picked up something like 6rwhp over the FIPK. It's been a while, and I'm to lazy to pll the charts. I do remember that it was warmer when I dynoed the UPD which would negativly affect the numbers. But the numbers still came back higher.
