no i realy dont remember. they were the normal price for head gaskets. what was happening is i think one coolant passage was blocked towards the back of the block and the head would leak coolant and a diecent amount of it. we had this problem with a 6.0 so it should be the same for the 5.3. i have seen two diffrent type of gm gaskets one was a tri metal gasket and the other was a one piece of some kind of material. i believe we used the one piece. this was a while back so cant totaly remember. but my friend is on a tour of duty but i still might be able to find out. also might check in the internal section if i can not find out.

but like i said a way to check is to hold the gasket up to the head and then up to the block which you should always do any ways.

let me know if you have any more ?? like i said this was for a 6.0 but it should be the same.
