Just like it says...are there any problems in using these on a 5.3?

Depends on what heads you have .. if you got the center bolt heads, then they won't work, if you got the perimeter bolted heads, then they are great.

I think the early ls1 heads were the only ones with perimiter style covers.

Well aren't the valve covers the only difference? Like if I happened to have a set of these, would these bolt on my '01 5.3 motor...with a valve cover change?

The 97-98 heads were perimeter...maybe '99 too.

Why won't these swap? Head bolt locations different?

Yes, the bolt locations are different. Newer style covers have 4 bolts in the middle. The older ones have 10 around the edge I think.

o and one major thing a lot of people dont know about!!!!

you will need special head gaskets to run those heads on your newer style motor. No B.S. trust me i have changed head gaskets on a camaro 4 times cause this problem.

there is nothing wrong with using them but if you realy want to do it let me know i will try to find you the correct gaskets. NO BIGGIE!!! and if you have gaskets to check them hold them up to the head first the to the block and make sure all passages are good.

What sort of special head gaskets are these? Are they super pricy?
