I was just wondering if anyone is running this setup?
<a href="http://www.kennebell.net/superchargers/gm/gm48-60/gm48-60.htm" target="_blank"><font color="red">Kenne Bell Supercharger<!--color--></font></a>
Similiar to the Whipple and MagnaCharger setups, in fact it looks REAL close to the Whipple setup.
Just wondering. My friend had one on his Dakota until he blew the motor up(boost greed
) and it seemed like a nice kit.
I emailed them to see what type of potential the blower has.

I believe the charger itself is Whipples old design,they sold it to Kenne Bell.I do like the fact you get a set of larger injectors.To this day I dont understand why Whipple chooses to add 2 additional ones to spray into a dry manifold.

It looks like the kit uses the 422JE blower which is a 2.2L design. It says the 2.2L blower can support 953CFM or ~650hp.
The whipple is a 2.2L also right? Should be the same blower if Autorotor makes them both?
Yeah, the extra injectors are nice but, they probably aren't big enough for highly modded setups.
parish8 - What type of power were you getting just from the blower(MAF Rate?) and how much more room did you have left in blower rpm? Thanks

The confusion is that until a few years ago the whipple and the kenne bell kits did use the same (autorotor) compressor. But whipple changed to the lysholm and bell still uses the autorotor.

I know the lightning guys are all dumping their superchargers from the factory for the kennebell supercharger (blowzilla). They keep the intake manifold / intercooler and bolt on the kennebell apparently the kennebell supports more horsepower? I had a kennebell on my 94 Cobra the things I did not like about kennebell, customer support sucks (may be good now) and the supercharger gets SUPER HOT! its nice though after a long ride you can cook a steak on it!

Gunner, Ive heard a lot of bad stuff about customer support from Kennebell. Maybe it stops the company from growing to fast if you ****-off half the customers.

I think the Whipple is 2.3L. Lysholm doesn't seem to make a 2.2L. Here is a page with all the Lysholm supercharger models.
