I would like to know too. It sure would be nice to have an intercooler for the 95 deg days that we get in SC. I imagine Whipple is like everyone else when you hear a release date, 2 months will turn into a year.

I hope they do release it.They would make a fortune on it and with the competition of the intercooled radix and procharger they just about have to in order to be competitive.I wonder how boost could be safely run on an intercooled whipple??

Ive been waiting on it to for my whippled 5.3... I just hope its a decent design and doesn't cause to much restriction, and drop a lot of boost.. Ive been running 8-9 lbs of boost with Water Injection and a 50 shot of Nitrous..... Something that might interest you Whipple guys is that I just recently installed the Design Engineering Cryo Air Charge and Fuel Cooler setup on my Whipple..., with the nitrous and water injection turned off it was worth 39 HP on the Dyno at the rear wheels raised the Boost up to almost 11 Lbs.., and it still showed a 16 HP increase even with the nitrous.. I was pretty impressed.., it does drop the boost a little when its not activated.., but only a pound or so.., and it more than makes up for it when its chilling... They also have an Intercooler spray bar that ill probably use with the Intercooler when it comes out..., and ill probably move the cyro chiller bulb to the intake side of the Blower then to cool the air before it reaches the Blower.. Just something you Whipple guys might be interested in.., it worked for me anyway...., in case your wondering.., I welded the cyro chiller bulb into the Whipples intake bell..., there was just enough room to fit it in there..., I am running a Custom Tune and Larger Injectors, so I didn't have to worry about the bulb interfering with the Whipples supplemental injectors.....

Butch do you have a stock internals 5.3L? So you got rid of the whipple auxilary injectors and run eight larger injectors...what make/size?
I am planning on doing a setup like that (Whipple 10lbs cooled) and would like to know how the motor takes to it and what fueling is needed to keep up with it Thanks man. Ryan

Yes Ryan.., it has stock internals..., I did install some mild Stage Two heads (custom not as radical as the normal Stage Two's) and SLP 1.8 rockers... The Injectors are the Delphi 43 pounders.., right now im running the stock fuel pump with no problems at all.., but I am going to install the Racetronics Walbro set-up when they have it available... It runs sooooooo much Stronger with the Larger injectors and Custom Tune.., verses the Whipples supplemental injectors and Computer..., Pulls like a freight train from idle right to the top... It did take a lot of Tuning to get it right... I worked with Mike at J&M Motorsports in Manchester Connecticut.., it took a lot of pulls on the Dyno., but He did a great job of making it Right and Safe..... One side note make sure you Pin the Balancer if your going to run over 8 psi of boost.., some on the ls1 have come loose and broken the front of the crank snout off.., its easy to do and cheap insurance.., ill post some pics of the Cryo installation when I get some time and figure out how.., ive never posted pics here before... Its a great site though, I scan through a lot of sites to see what others are doing, and this is one of the best......

Butch thanks for the good response It is the people that share tips that make it great -thanks.

I am glad to hear that the bottom end takes well to 10lbs at least for a while I imagine. Also, the injector install I can't wait to do. It only makes sense to me to have a dry manifold and have the air/fuel be consistent in each cylinder to make the best power...the aux. injectors could not perform this task nearly as well as eight well placed injectors. I was thinking of 42lbers, mostly because that is what they run with the Radix Magnacharger kit. I will check out those Delphis.
One important question: what is keying a balancer Gees...I just swallowed some pride right there, but I think it would definately be better to ask than to have to spend a ton of cash on a new crank and whatever else the balancer decides to hit as it flies off at 5,000rpm

On the crank snout, you'll have a slot cut in for a "key" that will match a slot in the balancer. That will require you to line up the balancer and crank key when installing the pulley. As it is right now, the pulley is just held in place by the very tight fit of the balancer. Higher HP motors usually have a key on the crank so the pulley doesn't spin on the shaft.

You can pin it by removing the crank bolt and drilling a hole to accept a roll pin between the pulley and crank snout then installing a new crank bolt.

okay, got it thanks guys. So what size stainless steele dowel are we talking? I probably will have to buy a nice titanium drill bit to destroy - that is a lot of metal to drill This doesn't affect any crank balance does it? Whitt1 have you done this?
