Re: Another electric fan ?
Seems like everyone has been going round and round with fan questions........One of my next mods is going to be some fans, yet I am still confused. No doubt the Flex A Lites are expensive.......but they seem to do a pretty good job, 3300-5500 CFM, and are designed specifically for our trucks. But over all, I am still kinda lost.......We got the stock LS1/LT1 Fans, flex a lites, couple others as well......
Would be nice to have one page to compare all of them. Still hard to tell whats the best for the money......Are flex a lites worth it? Or are stock ls1/lt1 fans the better deal? Some install pictures would be helpful too. Also, some info on how the install, wiring went etc would be nice too. Anyone got any first hand opinions on the flex a lite 282s?

Re: Another electric fan ?
Well, I will be doing some testing for you. I will be putting in my dual 10" Flexalites and testing them in excessive heat while idling with the AC on. If it stays cool with these, then I am SURE the LT1/Ls1 fans are way more then what you need. If it gets hot with these, I will be picking up a set of LT1 fans myself. Flex a lite fans are a waste of $$ $400 for a freakin fan? yeah right! Thats a nitrous kit or a set of headers. The only way I would get something like that was if I was pulling a heavy, big *** trailer daily, and even then I would just keep the stock fan. If you are pulling a trailer with a stock truck and its overheating with the stock fan, then you are using the wrong truck.

Re: Another electric fan ?
Dino, the difference is the ls1 fans are mounted on a flat shroud. It has no vents and air passages. Look at Big kid link and look at his ls1. The lt1 has air passages and vents on both the top and bottom. Look at someones link that has lt1 fans to see the difference. I have lt1 and like them very much. The ls1 look easier to install...

Re: Another electric fan ?
I gotta back BigKid up on his assessment. I can feel hot air coming out from under the hood when I stick my leg out the door and the fans are running. I wouldn't be surprised if underhood temps are reduced quite a bit when idling vs. the stock fan (electric fans are at full speed and my truck only idles at ~ 500RPM's).

Re: Another electric fan ?
Thanks BigKid for the links......
I gotta agree, 400 dollars for a set of fans just seems really high, for my budget atleast hehe.......Looks like I am slowly getting my mind set on some LS1 fans.
Alan, let us know how the flex a lite 310s work out.....
Question of the day, what really is the difference between the LS1 and LT1 fans? Is there any?
