Now that I have the LS1 and cam my valvetrain is a whole lot "louder". Lots more ticking but all Ive heard is its normal.

Default There was a TSB on that.

The TSB was for the oil pump pickup tube O-Ring that got cut at installation. The oil got areated at low RPMs, and caused lifter clatter until the motor got primed up.
That is just one of the causes that could be the culprit.

ive gotten some "noise" after i installed the headers... i hear its normal.

Mine will tick after a few minutes (idling) but not when cold and it doesn't have the dreaded piston slap. I heard it was lifters,too,and normal.

Mine started ticking around 20,000. It made me really nervous at first but it's been doing it for a long, long time now. Sometimes it's louder than others and sometimes you can barely hear it. Valvetrain definitely got noisier after the cam install.

On my '02 4.8 it started ticking after the first oil change. So far my '04 6.0 is yet to start ticking. Go figure.
