Thanks guys. I think i am gonna go with volant. But then again the gmpp looks bad ***, with the chrome. lol Which tubing is better?? plastic or metal????
i think the old style is the carbon fiber look lid...
The old style also had that weird 'growth' on the intake tube that was for noise reduction, I think. IIRC, before it was redesigned the old style Volant was actually found to cost a couple of HP.

If you're going for looks, get whatever is prettiest. As for performance, I use the K&N 77 series wrapped with fiberglass header wrap. The wrap eliminates the heatsoak problems with metal intakes. It also helps a lot on plastic intakes as well. IMO they're all pretty much the same and you're never going to find out "which one is better" simply because conditions on a dyno change inconsistently. If I were you, just find one with a good deal that's got a good filter element. The one advantage that the Volant and GMPP intake have over the current K&N setups is that they have an enclosed airbox. The K&N does have a larger filter though I believe, mine is freakin huge that's all I know lol.
PM me if you have any questions about the intake wrap, it's really simple.
