Default adding electric cutout to existing manual cutout

Ive allready got a 3" cutout and was wondering if there they make just the electric valve part that can bolt onto the existing cutout.

Every time I pull up next to some annoying harley I really want to open that thing.

Helicopter waste gates are electric and make great exhaust cut outs, I bought a couple of them from a surplus a few years ago for 20.00 a piece and hooked them up to a varible output switch so I could open the valve a little or alot depending on how much I wanted to dump. I guess finding a army surplus that has any will be the hard part, I was luck and just happened to run across them.

I think he's talking about actual helicopter parts.

Sounds very interesting to me. Time to jump on Ebay. Who would believe you when you told them though?

do they make cable operated valves? cause i'm sure those would be cheaper.

also, i have a related question. when you open the cutout before the muffler, the theory is that the air will take the path of least resistance, but in the case of high performance straight through mufflers, there is very little resistance. wouldnt a fair percentage of the air go through the muffler anyways?

it makes alot more sense to have first, a manual cutout that is always open, and then an inline valve before the muffler, so the valve can close off the path to the muffler. has anyone tried this with a plumbing valve or something?

Summit racing has the cabel ones by Mr. Gasket. Go to the summit site and type in MRG-5424 part number and it should come up.

I had the QTP cut out and it leaked all the time. Even when closed. Then finely fell apart. Here is one but i think its major cash. More of a Gate valve, than a butterfly.
