Default Acceptable hot idle oil pressure

I checked my oil pressure with a manual gauge when it was hot, it read around 24-25psi. From reading on tech this is pretty much normal for a stock block. Yall agree?

That's interesting. What is your cluster reading?

Cluster reads ~30, aeroforce displays 22-24, mechanical gauge hooked up to the turbo feed reads 24ish. This is after about 30min of driving, coolant temp around 195-199

Reason I ask is don't the newer trucks tend to also read lower - like around 20-30 psi at idle on the cluster? I wonder if on the nbs's they set up the oil pressure gauge like the coolant temp one so people wouldn't be worried all the time about it eventhough the readings were actually normal. 25 psi at idle does seem pretty normal. My cluster reads 55-60 psi on a cold start and 40-45 psi hot idle. T6 5w-40 rotella.

GM's specs read like this:

Minimum Oil Pressure
6 psig @ 1000 rpm
18 psig @ 2000 rpm
24 psig @ 4000 rpm

I like to see at least 20 psi at idle.

With stock motor and oil pump mine would idle at about 35psi hot with 5W-30. With the Melling high volume pump its about 45-50psi now.

34-36 psi on mine until i reach the 4k mile on the oil then it hits 28-29
(in gear foot on the brake idling) 42psi cruising.

this is through my MSD Dash hawk and the oem gauge reads higher

Did you mess with the oil pump/pickup tube when you built the engine?

My brother's 5.3 with a manual gauge sees around 30-35 at hot idle.

After a couple nitrous passes I'm idling 25-30 with 5w/30.

Idle rpm has a lot to do with the psi. Both my 370, and lq4 have always had right at 30 hot idling at 650 rpm with 5/30, and stock truck oil pumps. The large journal S400 turbos bleed off a little psi. I was around 35 psi with the Tnetics T78bb.
