Default AC belt will not stop squeaking.

Ok my AC belt is freaking pissing me off. I have replaced the tensioner 3 times with a Gates one from oriellys. I have bought the cheap and expensive belt from oreillys. The ac belt makes noise with the AC turned on and turned off. I just dont know what to replace next.

I have thought about replacing the tensioner with an AC Delco or Goodyear and buying the gatorback belt.

If i spray the belt with a little water or wd40 it stops for a breif minute.

Anyone else have an idea???

Mine does it when I first start it after it has been sitting for a little while and it annoys me. I'm in for some answers too.

I dont think the pulley is misaligned but the main belt does not do it just the ac belt. I have run the truck with each only. The main belt no noise by itself. The ac belt LOTS of noise by itself.

Quick question, the ac tensioner is new, actually i have 2 new ones sitting here. Both make the same amount of noise. I can deflect the AC tensioner fully by pressing down on the belt. I cant do that with the main belt. I wonder if the tensioner is just plain weak?? Perhaps i should try a different brand.

I've had this problem for months with both of my belts. Nothing has fixed it. After everything gets good and hot its not so extreme but at startup my truck whines really bad. lol

The a/c tensioner is very weak compared to ther serp belt tensioner. But free spinning that pulley with the belt off, should be silent. If it makes noise or has deflection, it's junk.

Try a dealer tensioner.

I had this problem when I first put the 408 in my truck. It was annoying as hell. What fixed mine was pretty stupid but I saturated the belt, pulley, tensioner, ect in belt dressing and kept the engine between 4000-6000rpm for a bit. Then went back and saturated and repeated. Stupid but after two pulleys and tensioners I didn't know what else to do.
