Default ABS light and E Brake light keeps flashing

i took my e brake out back in the winter. no problems since then. but recently my ABS and E brake light keep flashing while i am driving. they used to so this for a few minutes and then shut off after a few minutes of driving. now they flash all the time. what is it? sensor bad? how can i get it to turn off without clearing it with a scantool?

the only programming that i can think of is my hypertech power programmer. but my truck has been programmed for almost 2 years now without any problems. i will try it though. thanks

try programming back to stock and see if it goes away, if so reload your hppIII. i'm in the process of tuning with allen, after i loaded the the last tune, mine did the same thing. i reloaded the exact same program and it went away, has'nt returned for over aweek at this point. can't tell you the cause, guessing it's performing a self check and something in the memory got corrupted and it set a light. i'm betting reprogramming will fix it. if not make sure your fluid level is correct, make sure the sensors are'nt damaged or filthy. good luck,e

thanks. i will check the brake fluid level 1st then try to program my truck back to stock, then reprogram. hopefully it is not a sensor

well, i programmed my truck back to stock. still no change. lights are still flashing. brake fluid level is fine. might be the sensors. my front rotors are shot. the front of the truck vibrates when i apply the brakes. so maybe it messed up a sensor

Could it be the infamous ABS pump? Are you getting an SES light?

Also, check out Harbor Freight for a cheap scan tool...I got mine for less than $50 shipped and it reads and clears codes for you!

could be getting bad info due to the vibration. sounds like you need new rotors anyway, replace them and see if it clears up before you pursue it any further. abs is like women to me, i understand the concept, but not the way it acts at times. change those rotors , thats got to be annoying as hell anyway. e
