99-02 pcm battery light ****update**
#41
Great Point,
I looked in my vehicle platform options and see that the GMT-800 Platform has " yes" for alternator terminal " L" and " F " .
I will change them to " NO" and see if that helps.
Are there any adverse effects to doing this? Other than it not reporting when Alt or Battery is dead? Hell thats what the Amp gauge is for anyway right ? LOL

I'm out of advice for you. Turning off P1638 shut down my flashing light.

I can't believe changing the platform option to NO wouldn't fix it. I won't know for another week or so until I get mine reflashed. All I know is if it isn't there the PCM needs to be told to not look for it so to me it seems like that would stop the flashing light but who knows. I guess if I have to I will put a 145 amp alternator on it at some point. Its getting efans so a little extra grunt couldn't hurt it.

This thread dates back to before when the 99-02 OS swap became common practice
