There must be something else that has to be turned off in the tune as it can all be done with EFILive or HPTuners these days. Back when this thread started, I was in the same boat, and had to replace my alternator to a newer style (went with a 145amp anyway), and run the wire from the alt to the PCM. At first I just ran the wire and it didn't work, next I replaced the alternator and that did the trick...but that was before the tuning gurus figured out how to do it the easy way lol.

If you can send me a copy of your tune I'll check it compared to mine.

Cool, Thats kind of ya. I have to see if its cool since its not my work but im sure it will be fine.

I looked at my tune and P1637 and P1638 are set not to report a MIL.

Anything else i can try?

Try changing P1638 in the emissions section to "not reported." That should do the trick. It sounds like you only have the MIL turned off, which doesn't stop the message center from lighting up.

Yea I will sometime. There needs to be a change made under the systems > A/C settings too. G0106 needs to be changed from auto recirculation to #2 fan control so I have series parallel high and low speed fan operation like the 05+ trucks had stock. I went ahead and pinned both wires for the fans so whenever I do a radiator swap and get the fans I'm ready to go. I'm thinking I will probably end up having to get a 145 amp alternator at some point with efans anyway but for now the stock 105 is doing the job and I want the light off. Maybe in a couple weeks, I won't be around next weekend. I need to change the shift points a little more too. Drove it 123 miles today and without filling up just going off the gauge and how much it usually takes to fill it from that point its getting about 18 mpg running 70 fighting the wind.

Edit: Just looked and P1638 is already set to No MIL with the 2002 operating system. I would say the flashing battery light is not DTC related, its under vehicle platform options.

Damn, all I had to do when I flashed my 99 pcm to the 02 system was turn the code off. Have not seen the light since. I only have the 130 amp alt though.
