Default 97 Z71 going for 13s, advice needed(vid inside)

hello to everyone, im a noob here, my name is James.

i have a 1997 K1500 ext cab, i used to take her muddin, but those days are done. i recently rebuilt the L31 350, added some goodies(see vid) im workin on my PH.D in jackassery if you cant tell, anyways, im workin on turn my truck into a 13 second street truck. i know i should find a newer, lighter truck to do this with, but thats to easy lol. future plans are to lower it, and throw some smaller tires on her. gears are a must, im runnin 3.42s on 33 inch mud tires and its killin my off the line performence, im thinkin some 4.30s. after that, a 2800 stall converter and a 100 shot of nitrous. do yall think thats enough to get me into the 13 second 1/4??

heres the build vid...

(after 3:00, turn it off)

thanks for all advice
BTW, tuning was done by Wheatley performence tuning, he does great work and is a great guy to work with

Welcome to PT.net

Gears and converter with smaller tires and a 100 shot might get you close...

you dont think she can run 13s with gears, spray, and a converter??

im also considering a more aggrasive cam, i used the ZZ4 because i intended on using a whipple supercharger, but when it was said and dont, i have to much compression for forced induction.

also a project for the future, a Ramjet intake

With those mods and some weight reduction you may get 13s. One day James, you may get by my lil 4.8 at the track. Didnt get a chance to mess with you about it at the track.LOL. ... And welcome to the site.

Yeah, I also dealt with sticking calipers. Took off those bullet mufflers the other day and wow, got my power back. I bet Hunter wont beat me next time. I beat him the time before and my truck just wasnt in the game when we went to the track this past time. Once you lower yours, add those mods, and get rid of some of that weight you will be doing good. Your truck runs good, its just heavy and being jacked up it catches a ton of air.

Hitch, tool box, rear bumper, spare tire lift if its still under there. Plus once you get smaller tires that will reduce alot of weight too.

I bet once you get your miss fixed, your 4.30 gears, and a 2800rpm TC, you'll be closer than you think.
