You said you have the tranny that came with the 6.0L? If so its the4l80-e so it should hold up fine, but you will probably want to get a stall and a shift-kit. But if your running a 4l80e, I dont think you will need new clutch packs. but if you run your 4l60-e dont expect it to hold up very well.

well yea i gota ask what tranny it is. i just know he said i can get one that comes directly off of another truck along with it comes the engine and computer. so im guessing it will probably be the 4l80-e that comes with it( hopefully). i plan on getting a yank 2500 stall but honestly i dont know exactly what the shift kit does or how you install that. im getting someone to install alot of this for me because im good friends with them so they wont charge outrageous prices. and how much would a shift kit run? im guessing cam will be around 250-300,fans 300?,valves and lifters about 400?headers 250,stall somewhere in the 450-500? intake cheap, and muffler. those prices seem right to anyone?

Alot of people go with the trans-go shift kit (I did, and love it), there not expensive I wanna say somewhere around ~100. With the cam you just need some new springs (stiffer, like comps 918's), hardened pushrods, and all new gaskets. Multiple vendors sell full cam packages with everything you need for the install. If I were you, dont mess with the 6.0L heads, except for maybe a port and polish, but then again thats just more work and more money. A nice set of headers will cost you 600-700 bucks unless you can find some used. A set of ls1 fans will run ~$100. If you do some searching under the truck section you will find a TON of info on all of this, there have been alot of people do this same swap you are planning.

what cam would be a good choice for a stock 6.0 lq4. I have a 218/224 .562/.568 on a 113lsa and I am thinking about going a little bigger. This cam is in my 4.8. I would love to get into the 12's, I will be running a vig 3600 stall on a 4l80e.

Well how big do ya wanna go ??? If it were me I would go at least a TR230 or maybe even a T-Rex. But that's just me I like to go alittle on the big side. Some people are happy w/ a TR224 in a 6.0, but you got a big enough stall to pull those off. JMHO...Zed

6.0l should come with a 4l80e trans, should hold up fine with 400 hp. although it does suck up alot of power before it ever gets to the ground.at least thats how i understand it.
