Default 6.0L SS cam?

Even though I may not gain very much hp with this cam I'm still very interested in this cam, first because its a straight swap, and second because I know some one that can install it for cheap. Third because its still better than the stock cam that I have. Anyway, my question is would it make my truck sound any different, even the slightest bit? And what hp gains would I see, even though it may not be much just give me a ballpark fig. Last, in what rpm range would I notice the diff. Thanks, sorry for the same questions, just very stubborn and trying to learn as much as I can. Just can't get enough!
Thanks for the help

LQ9 cam specs are .479/.467,207/196,116.LM7 or 5.3 cam specs are .466/.457,190/191,114.You might see some performance increase, but I doubt it would sound very different.Any horsepower increase would be in the 4400-5800rpm range,I don't think you'd lose any bottomend power, but I doubt you would see more than a 5-7hp increase on a stock engine. You can do much better with an aftermarket cam.

I know where you can get one at a fair price. Located about 10 minutes from Mesquite Tx.

Thanks Big Tex although Farmtruc and I have already made and agreement for one of his. For any reason it doesn't work out I'll give you a holler. Thanks
Whitt1, you said that I would gain about 5-7hp on a stock engine, well I have a full true duel exaust system with an x-pipe and headers, K&N FIPK, throttle body spacer and HPP3 would the cam give me more than 5-7hp considering the mods that I have? By the way how much hp would I get from the 98-00 f-body cam that has stock specs of .500/.500 209 198 119.5 117/122 Thanks for the help guys

I would think that the reverse split cams that ppl seem to be installing would be a better choice for our motors given the weight of the trucks and the need for low-end torque....a longer exhaust duration certainly can't hurt unless you go too radical and over-scavenge

I doubt you'll see anywhere near 20hp with a LQ9 or Z28 cam.If you're going to the trouble of changing cams,I would go aftermarket something like a 212/216 and pickup 20-25hp.
