Default 6.0L LQ9 Crate Engine

I am seriously thinking about going for it. Can get one shipped to my door for $3800 and some change. It comes pretty much ready to go, just swap in my alternator and AC Comp and its ready to drop in. Thinking it would make a better foundation for future mods with the increased cubic inches. Looking at the stock LQ9 head flow numbers Richard @ WCCH posted up makes it more enticing - https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=355225. Stab a small 220 cam with some 918s, the TB stall that's still in the box and

What do you all think? Go for it?

You can get one a hell of alot cheaper with a few miles on it. Up to you if you want to spend 4000 on that crate. I wouldnt. I didnt. 6.0 heads do flow quite well in stock form though.

$3.2K for a new LQ9, no tax is a good deal. Can't get a price like that around here used. The dealers are wanting $4.1K minimum.

I could do a used LQ9 or a new LQ4 for about $3K, but add in the $300+ shipping and I'm back to what I would spend on a new one.

The 062 may go up for sale, along with the almost new Crane 1.8 Rockers. Gonna sell the 5.3 complete and ready to bolt in, minus AC comp, alternator, and engine cover, if I do the 6.0L. But don't know if cam will go with it or not.

You can find them cheaper than $3000 dollars used. Mine was only $1250 complete.

Been there. In OK cheapest 04 LQ4 is $2K with 11k miles, and cheapest LQ9 02 with 10K miles $3500 which doesn't have ETC TB. Really looking for a new engine. Don't want the worries or hassles of buying something that I have no idea where its been.

Call Capitol Auto. Talk to Wesley. Thats where I got mine. If you want to spend that extra money hey go for it. $3800 dollars is almost near LS2 territory.
