Default 6.0L build up advice

I'm going to buy a complete 6.0l Long block out of a 2003 hummer<tommorow i hope >
I talked to ARE and they told me that i should consider new pushrods ,ported oil pump
and a Dual intank setup .Should i do a double roller timing chain while it's out
My next big question is Should I get a Cam for this sucker ?
Now what cam somthing to compliment the blower

What else should i do well i have it out
I plan on gettin Wade from ARE to do a dyno tune
Anything else i want to consider ?
I wanna keep this on a budget
So head porting is not in the budget

seems to me pistons and rods or at least rod bolts should be the FIRST things on that list.

how is that thing running, i know you were talking about selling it but didn't and now you are bumping it up to a 6.0. thats great, i am glad you kept it, i want to know what kind of numbers(ET's) you are geting with that ATI.

^^^^What he said^^^^
And pretty much all the other stuff you mentioned. WHat is this dual intake setup? Is that one of those 2 filter jobs? I just don't think the intake manifold will benifit but with the ATI, maybe it will be worth it. I would start on the inside first though.

edit...Nevermind , you said INTANK not intake.

I would DEFINATELY replace the rod bolts. They are the weakest tested point on the ls1 and related motors.

This weekend the weather looks promising
It's been either raining or i have been working on the weekends this entire year
The trucks been running good it's a monster with the 12lbs pullie.I'm still trying to find an annoying squeek that i get when the truck is hot
other than that everything is good
We'll see what happens when i hit the track for some runs
well this comes down to do it once i guess
I'm gonna run moderate boost on the things 10psi at most should i bother with forged internals ?
with 10Psi i should be around the 460-500Rwhp mark i think that's enough for street truck
with my truck weight and 500rwhp i think I'll be into the 11's ?

I can't help with the 6.0l question but, How far are you from Drag strip in Napierville, Quebec? I was thinking going up for a weekend? Track is supposed to be better than the one down here as far as bang for your buck.

I agree on the rod bolts and timing chain. They are pretty cheap and so much easier when the motor is out. Same thing on a cam. Super easy swap before the motor goes in. I'd stick with a pretty conservative cam. The procharger will make lots of power up high, so you don't want to give up too much torque IMO. The comp 212/218 would probably be fine. Stupidfast seemed to make good power with it (475 rwhp / 430tq?) on a very similar setup. Might as well do the timing chain as well.

I should be getting my 6.0 in a few weeks (Parish8). Plan is to freshen it up since I KNOW it has been worked hard. Can I clearance the block, throw in a 4.125 or 4.250 crank and still keep the stock pistons and rods?

If I need new slugs and rods then I may as well bore the block out a bit also.

island, if you go with a bigger stroke you'll have to change pistons/rods
i have a set of 422 pistons 4.030 bore that work with the 4.125" stroke and 6.2 connecting rod if you need some.(plug)
