sweet deal, now i just have to make my mind up on whether or not i want to run a bigger crank, if i do so will i still be able to run stock 317's?

Yes, when you go to a larger crank you will have to look at your piston selection and wich rod length you will need to work with the crank you want to run...

o i thought i could run the lq9 piston just with a different set of rods, but i can run the same heads?

Heads yes. If you change the stroke you will need to get the right rod and piston combonation. In short No you can not reuse the stock rods and pistons with a longer stroke crank.

Im in Wetumpka also and building a LQ4 to replace my LS1 in my Sonoma, I have the cam in the LS1 with 918 springs and Ti retainers, hardened pushrods if you are interested. The cam specs are 228 228 571 571 112+4 .

I am building the LQ4 with PRC 2.5 heads(5.3) and a MS3 cam.
