Stick with the #317 Heads on an LQ9 Piston. 317 Heads came factory on both the LQ4 and LQ9.

The 317 Head have a 74cc Cumbustion Chamber
The 243 Head Have a 64cc Cumbustion Chamber

Aparently with 317 Heads With
LQ4 dish pistions = 9:6 compresion ratio
LQ9 flat top pistions = 10:1 compresion ratio

With a 243 Head and a LQ9 Piston I am told you will be around 11.1 compresion ratio.

I went the ls1 head route when i first put in my 6.0, once i built my 370 i had them on there for a bit then i put 243s on it and i wish i did that along time ago. ls1 head on a 6.0 is a bad idea

LOL... I remember when they were all the rage Like swaping to an LS1/LS6 Style intake on truck motors... untill people found out The hard way what a waist of time and money it was....

Now I keep seeing them pop up at local swap meets and people think there gonna get big money for them. Kinda like the early LS1 blocks That can only go like .005 over Because of core shift and liner thickness...

I was told by a certin Head porter That He would not even mess with them any more. There vertually worthless... and the real early LS1 heads like 853 and 806 are really crappy

i have a set of 241's, but guess it looks like my best route is to go with a 317 head on lq9 pistons

From what I understand the truck Intakes are all the same 4.8 -6.0 difference would be EGR or no EGR and Cable driven Or Drive by wire TB from 99-05 After that I am not sure of all the options for the trucks
