Default 6.0 swap questions.......

how much are you fellas paying for low mileage LQ9 6.0 engines?
i know a fella selling one w/ only 1500 miles for $3500, sounds kinda high though.

my truck's a '00 w/ a 5.3/4L60E. what year model 6.0 makes the easiest swap?

what years use the different crankshafts? seems like ive seen something about some sort of crank spacer?
basically, whats the difference in the cranks?

my truck has 119k miles on it, the last 50k have been on nitrous so im looking for a replacement before this one fills the oil pan w/ expensive stuff. it runs fine now, but...you know how it goes.

thanks fellas, CHIP

well, i posted before i saw Parish's post about the 6.0 crank issue. so i need a 2001 or newer motor.

gonzo.......i dont even want to bother w/ an LQ4, but those seem cheap!

so 3500 is too much for this LQ9, even though its got only 1500 miles on it?
what yall think? CHIP

i got my crate for $2k, but thats not typical. 04+ have returnless rails but just swap the injectors. supposedly 04+ lost piston slap. I dont hear it in mine.

Don't forget it already has a Comp cam, springs, ti retainers and hi-tech pushrods!!! PS: All LQ9's have the right crank.

What time did you get away from Fayettnam Friday night?

Get a LQ4 for $1000 shave the heads .030 and slap them back on, and you're right where a LQ9 is for $500-$1000 less

what is better about the pistons?

also, your valvetrain geometry wont be as good and your intake wont line up as well after shaving .30 off
