6.0 Build up on a budget!!!
Ok I just picked up a 6.0 lq4 and I want to make good power with out going crazy! I would like to make 450 horspower! I am open to every idea excpet for nitrous, turbos and chargers! I was thinking about maybe a bore! Not sure exactly what but I want it to be naturally aspirated without a crazy cam! I would however do methonal to put it over the edge if need be!!!

Does the L92 heads bolt right up? I thought I had read a article about them or the block needing modifications in order for them to bolt on and what would be the power gain?

I'm doing the same thing as you with my 6.0. I'm starting off with long tubes into a single 3". Then I'm having my 317 heads P&P and milled down .040" or so. Then a cam, springs, and rods. Hopefully that will get me a little over 400hp.

TECH Regular
Nice set of heads, mild cam, 1 7/8 headers and the regular bolt ons you'll be there. If it was me I'd throw a nice set of 243's from a professional porter on (WCCH, TEA, etc.) instead of the L92's because even at the 4" bore there is still a lot of valve shrouding. And the 243's will get your compression ratio up there, which will help out obviously. And a nice cam, in the low 230's should do it. And still be perfect driveable.

yeah I milled my last set of 317s and swapped out my springs, rods and lifters. Then I installed long tubes and cai with a custom tune and was making over 400 easily! I just didn't enjoy the hard cam in my daily driver!
I was researching the l92 head swap ported and polished with a small cam and the right intake you can make 500hp and just about the same in torque give or take a little up or down depending on the cam setup! I was surprised for sure! So I am very tempted to try it out!!!

Which Intake?
Ok so heres another question...If I use the L92 heads on a 04 6.0 then other than the L76 intake what other intakes will mount to those heads? and work with my truck which is also a 04!

You need a rectangle port intake. They are both for returnless fuel systems.
Are you talking 500 rwhp? You have a dyno sheet link? Or some cam specs?
I'd say for they money, you could find some nice cathedral port heads.

You talking about the L92 truck intake...If thats the case hell yeah I already have one!!! Ummm it had the cam specs on there and I believe there was a dyne sheet...I can tell you one was a article in hot rod magazine and another was some gm site...I didn't think to remember the links or sites but I can try and find them again and post them on there if ya would like? I do know it was rwhp cuz it was in a dyno room...which was actually cooler...which actually means that the numbers would be off a little!...Right?

6.0L Hop-Up, Part II - Speed Parts Testing
i think this is the article you are referencing, the dyno testing was done on an engine dyno. im doing the same thing, l92 heads truck intake and a small cam, the 210/218 crane cam they tested in the article made 462hp and 463tq at 4800rpm, and averaged the most torque out of all the cams.
